JS ProFinish

Framing Contractor in Davis & Weber County

Framing decides how the whole job turns out. If a wall goes up crooked, you'll see it in the drywall, the trim, and every cabinet that gets hung on it afterward. We frame basement layouts, interior walls, soffits, and structural work across Davis and Weber County.

We're also the crew that hangs the drywall and runs the trim afterward, so we frame like people who have to live with the results. Straight walls, square corners, and solid backing where the TV mount and cabinets are going.

Framing work we take on

Basement framing

Full basement layouts framed to code, including egress requirements for bedrooms, furnace room clearances, and soffits around ductwork.

Interior walls & layout changes

New partition walls, closets, and openings. We also remove walls and put in properly sized headers.

Structural work

Headers, beams, and framing repairs as part of a bigger remodel, done under our Utah carpentry license.

Blocking & backing

Solid backing for cabinets, floating shelves, TV mounts, and grab bars, so the finish work has something real to hold onto.

Common questions

Do you frame basements that someone else will finish?

Yes. Some homeowners have us frame to code, sometimes drywall too, then finish the rest themselves over time. We frame it, get it through inspection, and leave you a layout that's easy to build on.

Does basement framing need to be inspected in Utah?

Yes. Framing gets inspected before the drywall goes up, as part of the building permit. We pull the permit, frame to current code including egress windows for bedrooms, and meet the inspector on site.

How long does basement framing take?

A typical basement around here, say two bedrooms, a family room, and a bathroom, takes about a week to frame. Bigger layouts with soffits and built-ins take longer. You get a real schedule with your written estimate.
